Upcoming Events, Summer 2007

In June the Youth Congress USAC 2007 will be during June 18-22, 2007. It will be held at the Holiday Inn Select on 601 North Main Street in Lynchburg, Virginia.

On July 29th at 4 pm the District Fellowship will be hosted by C. H. Brown Christian Center here in Charlottesville, Virginia. The guest speaker will be Dr. Sheary Johnson, the State Supervisor, Third Jurisdiction Virginia, New Frontier Church of God in Christ .

In August the Convocation will be held the week of the 13th through the 19th at State Headquarters, VA #III at 1001 Church Street in Norfolk, Virginia.

Elder Moore Evangelizing with Pastor Brown

Elder Myrle Moore will assist Pastor Brown with evangelism beginning June 10th with Culpeper Restoration Ministries at the Best Western Inn. Elder Moore will also coordinate world evangelism to Indigenous Missionaries. To learn more about Indigenous Missionaries go to Christian Aid Missions.

Elder Myrle E. Moore is a native of Charlottesville, Virginia and is married to Gloria H. Moore. Elder Moore received his call to the ministry in 1980 and was licensed to preach the gospel in 1985. In 1989 he was ordained under the leadership of Apostle Hurley B. Russ of Marianna, Florida. He received his Associates Degree in Theology from Grace Theological Seminary where he is currently working on his Bachelors.

Elder Moore was the facilitator for Youth Power at Loving Church of God in Christ from 1979 to 1987. He hosted his own radio ministry from 1992 to 2001 called “The Force of Faith”.

Richmond Metropolitan District Meeting

The Richmond Metropolitan District meeting of the Third Jurisdiction, New Frontier Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of the Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop L. E. Willis will be held May 22 through the 25th, 2007. The meeting will be hosted by our District Superintendent Dr. James I. “Jack” Johnson, Jr. and his wife, First Lady Mary Johnson at the District Headquarters, Crusade For Christ Family Worship Church. The church is located at 1700 West Moore Street, Richmond, Virginia right near the Maggie Walker Governor’s School. The public is cordially invited to come join us in four nights of worship and praise. This year the New Frontier Church of God in Christ is celebrating 40 years of service in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Our Jurisdictional Holy Convocation will be held August 13th through 19th, 2007 at Garden of Prayer Worship Center, 1001 Church Street, Norfolk, Virginia.

Name: C. H. Brown was an ordained minister in the Church of God in Christ. He inspired others to believe in the church he loved, the church he called “the greatest church in the world.”

Scripture: John 21:15 “He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, feed my sheep.”

New Associate Minister at Brown Christian Center

We would like to welcome Elder Terry Lee Jones who recently retired from the Gospel IV of Charlottesville, Virginia to the staff of C. H. Brown Christian Center. The Reverend Jones brings a wealth of talent, Christian knowledge, skill, and he represents a powerful new addition to our ministry. He is a local businessman who owns his own painting company. He has been a talented musician singing with the Gospel IV for over ten years. He is a family man and a good gospel preacher. Stay tuned for more information about his new singing group and opportunities to hear him preach during our worship services at the The Hampton Inn.
